In the first quarter of 2024, geolocation-based games continued to entertain and engage users across Android devices in France. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the performance of the top five contenders in this unique gaming category.

Pokémon GO by Niantic, Inc., a veteran in the geolocation gaming space, displayed a fluctuating pattern in both downloads and revenue. The game experienced downloads ranging from 4K to 12K and revenue spikes peaking at $246K in the third week of February. Weekly active users showed a general upward trend, starting the quarter with 815K and closing at 781K.

Another Niantic creation, Monster Hunter Now, showed a modest performance in comparison. Downloads hit a high of 4K in mid-March, while weekly active users peaked at 32K in the same period. The game's revenue observed a dip mid-quarter, with the highest weekly revenue being slightly over $7K.

Jam City's Jurassic World Alive also took part in the Q1 race, with downloads reaching as high as 1.6K and weekly active users climbing to a peak of 16K. The revenue for the game remained below $8K for most of the quarter, with occasional surges.
